Oracle Fusion Cloud Product Lifecycle Management
Oracle Fusion Cloud PLM is a SaaS product lifecycle management application from Oracle, covering innovation, product, quality and configuration management within Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain and Manufacturing.
Overview
Oracle Fusion Cloud Product Lifecycle Management is the PLM pillar of Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain and Manufacturing. It is organised into Product Management (items, BOMs, changes and product data), Innovation Management (ideas, requirements, concepts and portfolio decisions), Quality Management and Configuration Modeling. Because it runs on the same cloud platform as Oracle Fusion SCM, ERP and CX, product records flow to procurement, manufacturing and sales without separate middleware. Oracle delivers quarterly updates; release 26B is current in 2026.
Oracle has added AI features that keep humans in the approval loop. They include a Design-to-Source agentic application linking design data to sourcing and supplier evaluation, a Product Readiness agentic application that flags BOM issues and compliance risks before launch, a Product Regulations Compliance Advisor and generative item descriptions.
Oracle Corporation was founded in 1977. Its SEC filings list Austin, Texas as headquarters, although the company has announced Nashville as its future world headquarters. Oracle also owns the older Agile PLM product, for which Premier Support for release 9.3.x ends on 31 December 2027, so many Agile customers are evaluating Fusion Cloud PLM alongside other options. Typical customers are high-tech, electronics, medical device and industrial manufacturers, and companies already standardised on Oracle Fusion Cloud applications.
Best fit
Organisations running or adopting Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP and SCM that want PLM on the same SaaS platform, including Oracle Agile PLM customers planning a migration.
Presence in Europe
Oracle runs cloud regions in several European countries and offers an EU Sovereign Cloud for Fusion Applications, and buyers should confirm PLM availability in their preferred region.
Strengths
- Native connection to Oracle Fusion SCM, ERP and CX removes much of the integration work between PLM and downstream processes.
- Innovation Management supports ideation, requirements and portfolio decisions in the same application as item and BOM data.
- Agentic AI applications address design-to-source decisions and pre-launch BOM and compliance readiness.
- Quarterly SaaS updates deliver new functionality without customer-run upgrade projects.
Considerations
- The application is SaaS only, so organisations requiring on-premises deployment need a different solution.
- CAD data management relies on integrations whose method Oracle says must be confirmed per environment, which matters for engineering-heavy firms.
- Agile PLM customers face a Premier Support end date of 31 December 2027 and need to plan migration scope and data mapping early.
