TraceGains

TraceGains is a networked compliance, supplier management and new product development platform for the food and beverage industry from TraceGains, a Veralto company since 2024.

Overview

TraceGains started as a supplier compliance and quality platform for food and beverage companies and has grown into a broader product development suite. Its compliance products cover supplier management and compliance, CAPA, quality and audit management, horizon scanning and carbon insights. Its new product development products cover formula management, specification management, packaging specifications, finished goods, Regulatory Global and NutriCalc nutrition calculation, the latter acquired in January 2024. AI Formulation and TraceGains Gather, a supplier data collection service, sit on top.

The distinguishing element is the supplier network. Suppliers publish documents and ingredient data once and share it with many buyers, which reduces repeated requests. TraceGains reports more than 1,500 clients, including over half of the top 100 food and beverage manufacturers, plus 100,000 supplier locations and more than 600,000 ingredients and products (vendor figures, May 2026).

Veralto, the US industrial technology group spun out of Danaher, acquired TraceGains in October 2024 for 350 million dollars. TraceGains now works alongside Esko, another Veralto company, with WebCenter Go linking specification and packaging artwork workflows, and Veralto has since announced the acquisition of GlobalVision for proofreading and label quality control. Typical customers are food and beverage manufacturers, ingredient suppliers and retailers that manage large supplier bases and frequent documentation.

Best fit

Food and beverage manufacturers, ingredient companies and retailers that need supplier compliance and documentation at scale, with formulation and specifications connected to the same network.

Presence in Europe

TraceGains' customer base is concentrated in North America, and its supplier network and Regulatory Global module support companies sourcing from and selling into Europe.

Strengths

  • A large food and beverage supplier network that reduces repeated document and data requests.
  • Broad compliance coverage including supplier approval, CAPA, audits and horizon scanning.
  • Formulation, specification and nutrition calculation linked to supplier data in one platform.
  • Connections to Esko packaging and artwork tools within the Veralto group.

Considerations

  • The platform is built for food and beverage, so cosmetics, chemicals and non-food categories have less specific coverage.
  • Formulation and specification modules are newer than the compliance core and should be tested against specialist formulation PLM.
  • European references and local regulatory depth should be checked, as the customer base is concentrated in North America.
