WFX PLM
WFX PLM is a cloud fashion product lifecycle management system from World Fashion Exchange, which also offers apparel ERP, MES and traceability software for brands and manufacturers.
Overview
World Fashion Exchange (WFX) was founded in 2000 by a family with a background in fashion manufacturing and has built cloud software for the sector since then. WFX PLM covers line planning, style and tech pack development, materials and BOMs, sampling, costing, vendor collaboration and critical path tracking. WFX states that implementations typically take 8 to 12 weeks depending on workflows, integrations and data (vendor estimate).
The PLM sits within a broader portfolio: Apparel ERP and Textile ERP, a Smart Factory MES, AI-supported production planning and control, a Virtual Showroom for B2B sales, and traceability and sustainability software. This lets a garment manufacturer or vertically integrated brand run development, production and selling on one vendor's stack. Documented integrations include Adobe Illustrator, CLO 3D, NetSuite and Magento.
WFX reports more than 1,000 fashion businesses and 55,000 users in over 50 countries, supported by more than 20 partners (vendor figures). Named case studies include Benetton India, Showpo, Vermont Teddy Bear, Aquarelle, Bhartiya and Texport. The typical customer is a mid-sized brand, retailer or manufacturer that wants a cost-conscious cloud PLM with an option to extend into ERP and factory software.
Best fit
Mid-sized fashion brands, retailers and garment manufacturers that want a cloud PLM with optional ERP, MES and traceability modules from the same vendor.
Presence in Europe
WFX sells to European fashion businesses and lists GDPR and ISO/IEC certification, while most of its published case studies come from Asia, North America and Australia.
Strengths
- A broad fashion portfolio spanning PLM, ERP, MES, production planning and B2B selling.
- Documented integrations with Adobe Illustrator, CLO 3D, NetSuite and Magento.
- Vendor-stated implementation timelines of 8 to 12 weeks for typical scopes.
- A large installed base among manufacturers and brands in Asia and other sourcing regions.
Considerations
- Many published references come from manufacturers in South Asia, so European brands should request comparable regional references.
- Using the full WFX stack increases dependency on a single vendor, which affects exit and integration planning.
- Depth of AI and sustainability functions in the PLM module itself should be verified against the wider portfolio claims.
